There’s something wonderful about eating food that’s incredibly good for you and still tastes fantastic. I love creating recipes that boost your health without feeling like a sacrifice. This green tea smoothie is one of those recipes—full of fruit, kale, and green tea, and surprisingly delicious.
Even on nights when I’m home alone and indulging in comfort TV, this smoothie feels like a treat rather than a chore. It’s packed with nutrients but tastes bright and refreshing—kale is completely disguised by the fruit and citrus.
Here’s why each ingredient matters:
- Kiwi: Rich in vitamin C and other nutrients while remaining low in calories. Kiwi adds a sweet-tart, candy-like flavor and a pleasant texture from the seeds.
- Green apple: A good source of dietary fiber and antioxidants; it helps support digestion and provides natural energy.
- Lemon: Brightens the smoothie with acidity and supports cleansing and hydration when used as fresh juice.
- Kale: A nutrient-dense leafy green packed with antioxidants and vitamin C. Raw kale can be tough on its own, but it blends smoothly here so you get the nutrition without the strong texture or taste.
- Green tea: A healthful liquid base that provides antioxidants and a gentle metabolic boost. If you don’t have green tea, water, coconut water, or a mild fruit juice also work.
The final drink tastes light, energizing, and clean. You’ll notice kiwi, green apple, and lemon first—kale and green tea blend into the background and don’t dominate the flavor.
Yum. This smoothie makes you feel refreshed right away—light, energized, and nourished.
Here is the recipe:
Superfood Green Tea Smoothie
- Author: Annie Chesson
- Prep Time: 10 mins
- Total Time: 10 mins
- Yield: 2 smoothies

- 3 kiwis
- 1 green apple
- 1 cup kale
- 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 cup green tea

- This recipe makes two smoothies. For each smoothie, place half the fruit and half the kale into the blender with the juice from 1/2 lemon, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 1/4 cup green tea.
