A fun, new way to enjoy thin-crust pizza—my favorite style—is with these Wonton Pizza Rolls. They’re crispy, a little spicy if you like, and perfect for dipping.

Wonton Pizza Rolls
What’s your favorite way to eat pizza? As a child I loved square pizza at school, but over the years my tastes have shifted toward super-thin crusts loaded with vegetables and a spicy tomato sauce. Add jalapeños and I’m happy. These wonton-wrapped pizza bites capture that thin-crust appeal in a hand-held, crispy package.
If you remember pizza rolls from childhood—those small pockets of sauce, cheese, and pepperoni—these are a grown-up, more flavorful take. Bigger, crispier, and baked instead of microwaved for the best texture.
The idea came from a recipe swap I participate in each quarter called Freaky Friday. I was assigned Debi from Life Currents, whose blog is full of wholesome recipes, helpful ingredient tips, and clever DIY projects. Her Easy Baked Pizza Wraps inspired this version using wonton wrappers for a quick appetizer or snack.

Wonton wrappers are wonderfully versatile: they crisp up beautifully when baked or fried and make a great thin-crust substitute. To assemble these pepperoni pizza packets, place a wonton wrapper on a parchment-lined sheet, add a couple of pepperoni slices, a teaspoon of sauce, and a tablespoon of shredded mozzarella. Brush the edges with a little water, top with another wrapper, press to seal and push out excess air, then bake until golden brown.
These are perfect hot from the oven with extra marinara or pizza sauce on the side for dipping. Make a dozen, or make several dozen and freeze extras for easy reheating—ideal for after-school snacks or quick bites after work.

These wonton pizza packets are versatile, too. Swap pepperoni for cooked sausage, vegetables, or a mix of cheeses. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat or a sprinkle of Italian seasoning for extra flavor. Because they’re small, they’re ideal for serving tapas-style alongside other easy finger foods.
Recipe: Pepperoni Pizza Packets

Pepperoni Pizza Packets
A crisp, dippable twist on thin-crust pizza made with wonton wrappers, pepperoni, sauce, and melted mozzarella.
Ingredients
- 24 wonton wrappers
- 24 pepperoni slices
- 1 cup tomato sauce (pizza sauce or marinara)
- 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Non-stick spray or a little olive oil for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange 12 wonton wrappers on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Place two pepperoni slices in the center of each wrapper.
- Add about 1 teaspoon of sauce to each and top with 1 tablespoon shredded cheese, keeping the filling centered.
- Brush wrapper edges with a little water, then place another wonton wrapper on top. Press firmly to seal and push out excess air.
- Repeat until you have 12 sealed packets.
- Spray or brush the tops lightly with non-stick spray or olive oil.
- Bake at 400°F for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown. Ovens vary, so start checking after 10 minutes to avoid overbrowning.
- Remove from the oven and serve warm with extra heated sauce for dipping.
Notes
Cooking time may vary; my batch reached a toasty brown at about 20 minutes. Feel free to customize the fillings—vegetables, different cheeses, or other cured meats all work well.
