These witch hat cookies are one of the easiest Halloween treats to make: an Oreo cookie topped with colored frosting and a Hershey’s Kiss. They’re perfect for Halloween parties and classroom treats.

These witch hat cookies can be made with any chocolate cookie: classic Oreos, fudge-covered Oreos, Keebler Fudge Stripes, or even homemade chocolate cookies. I used Halloween Oreos for a festive orange filling, but any variety works. The cookies come together quickly and look adorable with colored frosting—orange is classic, but green or purple are fun options too.

If you need a fast Halloween treat to bring to a party, these are ideal. You can assemble a dozen in about five minutes. Store finished cookies in an airtight container and make them the day before if needed. Store-bought frosting works fine, but a simple homemade vanilla frosting is easy to tint and pipe.

Witch Cookie Ingredients
- 12 Oreo cookies (or other chocolate sandwich cookies)
- ½ cup vanilla frosting (homemade or store-bought)
- Food coloring to tint the frosting
- Halloween sprinkles
- 12 Hershey’s Kisses

Homemade Vanilla Frosting
- 2 Tbsp. butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 teaspoons milk
Combine the butter, powdered sugar, and milk, then mix until smooth. Add a few drops of food coloring and mix to achieve the desired shade.

Fit a piping bag with a large round or star tip and fill it with frosting. Pipe a dollop of frosting into the center of each cookie, then add sprinkles on top of the frosting.

Unwrap a chocolate Kiss and gently press it into the center of each frosting dollop to form the witch hat. Press just enough to secure the Kiss without flattening the frosting too much.
For variety, try different cookie bases (regular Oreos, fudge-covered Oreos, or homemade chocolate cookies). You can change the frosting tip or add a mini M&M as a buckle for extra detail. These cookies are simple to customize and make for a playful Halloween display.

Witch Hat Cookies (Homemade Version)
If you prefer to bake your own cookies, use a chocolate cookie recipe and allow the cookies to cool completely before piping frosting, adding sprinkles, and pressing a chocolate Kiss into each cookie.
