Directions

How to make Chocolate Chip Nutella Biscotti

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs until frothy and light using a hand mixer or stand mixer.
  3. Add 1 cup of the granulated sugar and beat 1–2 minutes more until well combined.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and mix briefly.
  5. Lightly spray a 1/2-cup measuring cup and a teaspoon with cooking spray to make measuring the Nutella easier. Measure and add the Nutella to the egg mixture.
  6. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Sifting helps ensure an even texture.
  7. Fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture with a wooden spoon until just combined.
  8. Stir in the mini chocolate chips and the remaining 1 tablespoon of sugar.
  9. Divide the dough into 2 or 3 portions and place each portion on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray your hands with cooking spray (or flour them) and shape each portion into a log or rectangle about the thickness you want for slicing later.
  10. Bake on the middle oven rack for about 20 minutes, until the logs are set. If you have only one oven, bake one batch at a time.
  11. Check doneness with a toothpick—the center should be set. Let the logs cool a few minutes on the baking sheet before slicing.
  12. Using a sharp serrated knife, slice the logs into approximately 1/2-inch (1.25 cm) slices.
  13. Arrange the slices cut-side down on the baking sheet. Bake 5–7 minutes to toast one side.
  14. Flip the slices and bake another 5–7 minutes on the other side. For softer biscotti, reduce the second-bake time; they will firm up as they cool.

Enjoy every chocolaty bite!
