I’ve used a variety of Earth Harbor skincare products for several years. Their aesthetic is playful and colorful, with pleasant but not overpowering scents, yet the formulas remain functional and relatively minimal. Earth Harbor’s founder, Ali, is both a toxicologist and an herbalist, which sets the brand apart from many other non-toxic skincare lines. Her origin story is memorable: after a near-fatal car accident left her disabled, she discovered she was pregnant and shortly after launched Earth Harbor from a tiny off-grid treehouse with just $2,000 in savings.
Below I summarize the brand and then share my impressions of the individual products I’ve tried.

100% plant-based ingredients
Earth Harbor uses only plant-based, mineral-based, or bio-identical ingredients. Many ingredients are certified organic, non-GMO, or wildcrafted. “Bio-identical” or “nature-identical” refers to ingredients that are either directly sourced from nature or manufactured to be chemically identical to their natural counterparts. Nature-identical ingredients are generally safe and can be more sustainable and less contaminated than some naturally sourced alternatives.
The brand maintains an extensive exclusion list of roughly 2,700 ingredients it will not use, including synthetic fragrances, parabens, talc, nanoparticles, phenoxyethanol, gluten, soy, and other common allergens and problematic substances.
Low-plastic & refillable
Earth Harbor isn’t completely plastic-free—few skincare brands are, mostly because of lids and dispensers—but many items come in glass jars and there are several refill options. The brand partners with recycling and cleanup initiatives and pursues multiple sustainability practices, including solar-powered manufacturing and compostable shipping materials.
Locally sourced & manufactured
Over 99% of Earth Harbor’s products are made in-house in Utah, and the brand prioritizes sourcing local ingredients when possible. They work with independent farmers and cooperatives that supply organic or wildcrafted botanicals.
Suitable for all ages and skin types
Earth Harbor offers products that appeal across generations. They have playful, approachable sets and lightweight formulations that work well for tweens and teens, alongside targeted serums and moisturizers that address fine lines and aging concerns. The range makes it easy to craft either a simple or more elaborate routine, and parents can feel confident about non-toxic ingredients for younger family members.
For skincare lovers and minimalists
The collection is extensive, with many specialized treatments, serums, and elixirs for those who enjoy multi-step routines. At the same time, their products are effective when used alone, so you can keep things minimal with just a cleanser and moisturizer if you prefer. Earth Harbor also offers a skincare quiz to help recommend products based on your needs.
Third-party certifications
Third-party certifications are imperfect but useful indicators. Earth Harbor holds a number of certifications and recognitions, including:
- 1% for the Planet
- Carbon Neutral (Change Climate Project)
- Plastic Negative (Plastic Credit Exchange)
- EU Certified
- Leaping Bunny
- PETA Vegan & Cruelty-Free

- Local sourcing recognitions (ECOCERT; Utah’s Own; Georgia Grown)
- USDA Organic & Non-GMO for select ingredients
High-level pros and cons:

My (unsponsored) thoughts on Earth Harbor’s natural skincare products
Overall impressions:
- I’m a fan of this natural skincare brand.
- The formulas appear non-toxic and I haven’t found questionable ingredients.
- While I preferred some products more than others, I would repurchase any of the items I tried.
Sea Kiss Plumpy Lip Balm

This lip balm provides mid-weight moisturization and shine. It’s thicker than a chapstick but not overly heavy. It applies smoothly and softens lips well. The plumping effect is subtle—a gentle tingle/cooling sensation rather than intense fullness. It carries a very light rose scent, likely from evening primrose. Ingredients include castor seed oil, shea butter, prickly pear, seaweed, and squalane, with some certified organic components. It’s great for younger users and comes in regular, refill, and mini sizes.
TIDAL ROSE Seaweed Hydration Mist

This versatile spray can act as a toner, makeup setting spray, or midday refresher. It contains rose flower water for hydration and pH balance, white tea for antioxidants, and tremella mushroom for elasticity. The rose aroma is noticeable but not overpowering, making the mist soothing and refreshing. It’s packaged in a glass bottle with a plastic spray lid; a refill option with an aluminum lid is available to reduce plastic.
Anchor Bio-Retinal Vitality Serum

This anti-aging serum uses plant-based retinol alternatives such as bakuchiol and babchi, alongside citrus stem cells, lychee, rosehip seed oil, and astaxanthin to help address fine lines and protect against environmental stressors. The texture is lightweight and smooth with a subtle, fresh scent. The pump bottle is glass with a plastic pump; a refill option with an aluminum lid is offered.
CELESTINE Hydra-Peptide Firming Serum

This serum has a light moisturizer-like consistency and spreads smoothly. It features multiple plant-based hyaluronic acids, niacinamide, seaweed collagen, and other hydrating and firming ingredients—making it possible to use in place of a dedicated hyaluronic serum. I use it under my morning moisturizer for added hydration without heaviness. Packaging is a glass bottle with a plastic dropper; a refill option is available.
Mermaid Moon Line-Filling Balm Cream

This is possibly my favorite Earth Harbor product. The texture is airy, fluffy, and very smooth, with a pleasing scent that may come from meadowfoam flower and blue tansy. I use it at night; it’s rich and slightly oily for daytime use. Key ingredients include bakuchiol, squalane, and plant ceramides. I would definitely repurchase this cream.
MERMAID MILK Nutrient Glow Moisturizer

Mermaid Milk is a daytime, lightweight moisturizer with a slightly bouncy, jelly-like consistency. It absorbs quickly, leaving skin soft without greasiness. Ingredients such as spirulina, seaweed, matcha, and turmeric provide antioxidants and calming benefits. Its fun green color and light scent make it appealing to younger skincare fans. Packaging is a glass jar with a plastic lid; a refill with an aluminum lid is available.
SIREN SILK Bio-Retinol Hydration Cream

This mid-weight “whipped” moisturizer feels fluffy yet nourishing. It softens the skin and includes many botanical ingredients, such as rosehip seed oil (a retinol alternative), sunflower vitamin E, and meadowfoam seed oil to support the skin barrier. It’s low in scent and packaged in a glass jar with a plastic lid; a refill jar option exists.
CALYPSO Vitamin C Facial Oil

This vitamin C facial oil draws from sources like certified organic sea buckthorn CO2 extract and rose petal extract, and includes co-enzyme Q10. It’s lighter than many facial oils and absorbs well; I use it as the final step after serums and moisturizer. Packaging is a glass vial with a plastic dropper; a refill is offered.
ECLIPSE Sheer Mineral Sunscreen (SPF 30)

I don’t usually enjoy sunscreen textures, but this one is lightweight, blends easily, and avoids an obvious white cast. Its active ingredient is non-nano zinc oxide, a widely recommended mineral option. The formula also contains microalgae and green tea extract to help shield against blue light. The sunscreen comes in an opaque pink glass jar to protect formula stability; refill jars are available.
