The beginning of a new year is always the perfect time to set goals for self-improvement. If you haven’t written your resolutions down yet, that’s perfectly fine. You still have time. Today I’m sharing some of my goals for 2018 with you.

Happy New Year and cheers to you all! I hope your holidays were wonderful and that you’re ready to get back into a healthy routine. December was a busy month for me while I published and promoted my Healthy Christmas Cookies cookbook. I also shared a Honey Cinnamon Cookies recipe just before the holidays, then took some much-needed time off to be with family.
While I was offline I reflected on the past year and reviewed my most popular blog posts. 2017 was an incredible year — I feel grateful to do work I love and to begin seeing the results of that effort. Those results are motivating and fuel new goals.
Like many of you, I likely overindulged in food and skipped workouts over the holidays. Don’t be hard on yourself — I did the same. Holidays are for rest and enjoyment. Now that they’re over, it’s time to get back on track, and I’m bringing you along. Goodbye Almond Sugar Cookies, hello Orange Persimmon Detox Smoothie.
There’s no better moment to set intentions than at the start of a new year. Coincidentally, the first day of the year fell on a Monday this time — the perfect day to begin. It feels like the year is set for success. Can you feel it? I do!
If you haven’t written your resolutions down yet, it’s not too late. Here are my goals for 2018. This year I will:
Spend more quality time with family.
Live in the moment.
Start each day with gratitude.
Focus on positive things. Choose to be happy.
Love yourself and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Drink more water.
Meditate and practice yoga.
Say YES more to new experiences.
Push beyond my comfort zone.
Buy less and declutter my life.
Embrace simplicity.
Give more compliments.
Be kind and generous.
Travel more.
Learn a new skill.
As I listed these goals, I noticed a common theme: loving life and loving ourselves more. When we take good care of ourselves, we have more to give to the people we love. That simple idea ties all my resolutions together.
Until next Monday, stay happy and healthy.
Xoxo,
-Natalie
